Howard University alum and graduate of the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) School of Law, Gail K. Johnson served as a judicial law clerk and in 1988, Ms. Johnson joined the U.S. Department of Justice through its coveted Honors Program.
She currently works as a Supervisory Trial Counsel in the Federal Tort Claims Act (FTCA) Section of the Civil Division’s Torts Branch, where she specializes in litigation involving complex medical malpractice as well as personal and property injuries. For over 20 years, Ms. Johnson has traveled the country recruiting for the Department's various hiring programs. She has served on several Civil Division hiring committees, headed FTCA Section hiring committees, and is a former member of the Civil Division’s Diversity Committee. She is the proud godmother of 16, makes a "mean" pound cake, and is known for her very loud (and sometimes frightening) laugh.
